Meet the Willow Creek Coven: Vivienne “Vi”

Welcome to the Meet the Willow Creek Coven Series!

Today’s featured character is Vivienne “Vi” Gearhart, a fire witch and tarot reader and one of the MCs in Tangled Fates (Witches of Willow Creek: Tangled Magic #2).

In this ongoing series, we’ll meet the heroes and sheroes of each book in the series (each book features a different couple and follows them on their leg of the coven’s journey). There will also be a few extras included in each post.

Scroll down to meet Vi, see a moodboard of her apartment above the Piper Street Co-Op, and read an excerpt of Tangled Fates!

Vivienne “Vi” Gearhart

Hi, I’m Vivienne, but everyone calls me Vi. I’m new to Willow Creek. A Georgia native, I moved to Willow Creek, Virginia, a few months ago looking for answers to a family secret.

I was raised by my grandfather, who passed away when I was 13. He used to talk about his sister, my great-aunt Cassie, who went to Willow Creek and then, well, vanished. Literally. In a way that probably involved magic (if you want the whole story, you’ll have to ask Aunt Cassie, though).

When I came to Willow Creek, I found Cassie—and my coven! A fire witch by birth, I immediately felt right at home with my fellow witches in this charming little mountain town.

A few things to know about me: I read tarot cards. I make my own tea blends. I work at the Piper Street Co-Op and live in a funky little apartment above the co-op, which I’ve decorated with thrift-store finds and more crystals than I can count.

I read—a lot. The only people I know who love to read and learn more than I do are my boyfriend, fox shifter Aiden; and my best friend, Bailee, who’s also the town librarian.

Oh, and I have a cat who’s also my familiar, a tortoiseshell named Rosemary Caterwaul Broomsticks who found me (pretty sure it wasn’t the other way around) shortly after my arrival in Willow Creek.

I can be shy and guarded at times, but I’m fiercely loyal to the ones I love and would do anything to protect them—even if it means traveling to another world (okay, maybe I’ve been there, done that).

In her own words…

Hear how Vi describes her thrifted apartment with vibes both vintage and witchy…

I curled my legs underneath me and sank deeper into the sofa. It was a soft velvet loveseat in a faded olive color. I’d found a couple tapestries in a bin at the local thrift store and sewn my own throw pillows, one of which cushioned my back. Rosemary Caterwaul Broomsticks sat on another cushion beside me, leaning her head into my hand as I scratched behind her ear. Her purr was the sweetest kind of music.

The walls of my apartment above the Piper Street Co-Op, where I worked most afternoons and evenings during the week, were brick long since painted white, and the windows were tall and wide, letting in lots of light, though I’d added some tapestry-sewn curtains for privacy.

I’d set my rose quartz pendant on the windowsill in a circle of selenite and clear quartz. The selenite cleansed the rose quartz, and the clear quartz amplified the cleansing vibrations of the selenite.

I sipped a cup of cinnamon-black tea with honey, leaning my head against a throw pillow, this one navy blue with mustard-yellow flowers and olive-green vines.
